The DYNAMIC DEVICES automated system is structured with a modular architecture utilizing well-suited devices for specific functions and a driver based software architecture.  Each module consists of an independent executable ActiveX software driver with bi-directional communication with a hardware component/station that is specific for a function or set of functions.  This provides a third and more robust level of error handling as well as allowing a device to be easily added or replaced with minimal interruption to the rest of the system.  The ActiveX drivers provide a convenient user interface to run the corresponding device in stand-alone fashion.
